Diaz piloted the Guerreros through an at-times difficult year that included the very real possibility of the team having to move out of Oaxaca in midseason because of a ballpark shutdown, but the former Brewers shortstop guided the club to an 18-game improvement from a 42-63 record in 2009 to a 60-45 mark this year and an LMB South finals berth against Puebla.
Rodriguez performed a similar job with a Dorados franchise that spent the offseason wondering if they'd be moving to Chiapas (among other sites), but the turnaround ended with a five-game loss to Monterrey in the Zona Madero semifinals.
