CHRIS ROBERSON TO RETURN TO NARANJEROS

Outfielder Chris Roberson has agreed to return to the Hermosillo Naranjeros for another season of winterball in the Mexican Pacific League.

The California native, who turns 31 on August 23, was a ninth-round draft pick by Philadelphia out of Feather River College in 2001, signing with the team for a $55,000 bonus. Roberson spent seven years in the Phillies organization, batting .232 in 85 games for the parent club in 2006 and 2007. After stints with AAA affiliates for Baltimore in 2008 and Arizona in 2009, Roberson spent this summer playing center field with Monterrey, where he hit .306 with 12 homers and tying for second in the Liga with 21 stolen bases. He batted .333 in eleven playoff games for the Sultanes.

This will mark the sixth season Roberson has spent roaming the outfield for Hermosillo, including two pennant-winning teams. He batted .232 for the Mex Pac champs last winter.
